The Mighty Mountain 5K is a trail run/walk fundraiser for camper scholarships at Caraway Conference Center and Camps located in Sophia, NC about 8 miles west of Asheboro.
The trail run/walk is on the property of Camp Caraway. Our well maintained trail is a combination of rolling hills, gravel, and asphalt through a beautiful hard wood forest near creeks and lakes.
Located in the Uwharrie Mountains, Caraway and Mundo Vista serve guests year round for overnight retreats, conferences, day meetings, and summer camp programs. This fundraiser will help campers attend camp that cannot afford to come on their own. The scholarships may be used to attend FAM camp, father-son retreats, mother-daughter retreats, Warrior Camp for Boys, Horizons Camp for Girls, Caraway Mountain Day Camps, Children's Church camp, Winter Camp, and Grand Camp.

THE POWER OF CAMP
The average child only spends 4 minutes a day outside, but when they come to Caraway they can spend up to 10,000 minutes during their time here. We believe that every young person should have the opportunity to experience The Power of Camp. To experience being celebrated over growth no matter how big or small, to be encouraged to try things without fear of failing, to develop leadership skills, and to experience love. This is why we have created The Mighty Mountain 5k, so that every child in our local community can come to camp, especially when the one thing stopping them is finances.
